Slicing Onions Without Tears
I love cooking and cook all the time, often with either onions (red preferred, but using any often) or garlic. My complaint (and question in one) is how do I keep from shedding tears when cutting onions (and sometimes really strong garlic)?

Glass Jars for Food Storage
I store my sugars in glass jars, like the big pickle jars, same thing for flour, cornmeal, oatmeal. Bugs can't get in them, because my house is so small.

We have become regular ALDI shoppers because of the consistently low prices for very good quality products. For those who aren't familiar with this name, it is a company based in Germany and has been around Europe for quite a while.

Metal Binder Clips for Closing Bags
If you have any of the metal binder clips, use those. They will not pop off, they will grip tighter than any plastic device ever will, and if you fold the corners of your bags over before you roll the top down for closure, it gives a nearly air tight "seal".
