| Saving the Plastic Rings on Plastic Milk Cartons
I use the rings for sorting socks for the laundry. I keep a small tupperware dish on a shelf above the clothes hamper. And then before tossing the socks in the basket I place a ring around them. Then before washing I remove them and put them back into the dish. It saves on a lot of socks getting lost.

| Freshening Sour Laundry
When a load of wet laundry got left in the dryer for a week the smell was horrendous. I soak the whole load in the washer overnight with a cup of vinegar in the water, then drained it and rewashed with laundry soap. As good as new!

| Sprinkle Salt on "Out of Control" Bubbles
Have you or your kids ever added too much laundry detergent to
your washing machine, and found that the bubbles were beginning
to overflow? Next time, sprinkle some salt on the excess suds
and watch them disappear. By Worthington

| Biodegradable Laundry Soap
I have found an excellent biodegradable laundry product that is non allergenic and inexpensive.
It is called ORVUS. It comes in paste form and you only need a tablespoon per wash load.
It can be found in your local feed store for about $27 for 120 OZ ( 7.5 lb)

| Save on Laundry
When washing, to save on electric and detergent, use 1/2 cold water and let clothes soak (reduce detergent and add baking soda). Do something else while they soak. They will come out just as clean.

| Soap Build Up
By Syd Barr - Dunkirk, MD

From time-to-time it is a good idea to check and see how much soap is left in your clothes. You might be surprised!
Fill your washer with clothes and fill with the normal water temperature for the batch of clothes, then let them agitate for several minutes before adding soap. If there are lots of suds, cut back on the amount of soap.
Tip: Towels seem to hold soap and fabric softener the most.

| Use Less Fabric Softener
When using fabric softener in the wash, I use a fraction of the amount suggested on the packaging and add water to make up the difference. The wash comes out just as soft and nicely scented. - Kelly

| Baking Soda for Stains
This works great! Make a paste of soda and a little water and apply to stains on clothing. Let sit for a while and launder as usual. Not good for all stains, but apply while the stain is fresh and it disappears like magic! Good for underarm stains, plus soda acts as a deodorizer.

| Washing Clothing With Stains

Machine-wash your whites in cold water, using a detergent and washing soda mixture. Hot water sets the stains, instead of removing them.
