| Potatoes in Tires
We just had our first frost last week, and I dug up my potatoes grown in a tire stack. I was disappointed to find only 6 potatoes. I planted 3 seed potatoes in the initial tire, and partially covered the greens, as they appeared to a final height of 5 tires. Any suggestions as to what went wrong. It would be helpful for next years attempt. Thanks.

| Use for Sticky Backed Labels Attached to Prescriptions
Found another use for the sticky-backed label attached to our bag of prescriptions. (This "label" contains way more information than just a label so I am very cautious to make sure most of it is destroyed.)

| Reusing Mandarin Orange Boxes

You know those sturdy wooden crates that you buy mandarin oranges in? I paint them, decoupage nice pictures on the sides and use them for storing items in the bathroom. I put it on the counter or on the tank of the toilet.

| Construction Site Scraps

Look in the dumpsters at construction sites (with contractor's permission of course) for scrap wood/moulding for small projects. It's amazing what is thrown out these days.

| Gift Wrapping Reusing Helium Balloons
If you purchase or are given helium balloons, you know they are beautiful and expensive. Recycle and reuse them by slitting the bottom part of the balloon, inserting gift wrapped in tissue and reseal with tape. I get many compliments and am happy to recycle. A tip I learned from Heloise. | Shredding Old Gift Wrap For Packing Material
Save gift wrap; put it through your shredder. Place the shredded gift wrap in two separate bags: one for general gifts and one for Christmas time. These bags can hang on hooks most anywhere until needed for packing, separating items or whatever. The shredded paper not only looks nice but you`re recycling as well. Have fun!!
