An Indoor Wedding For Less Than $1,500

Hi all thrifters. I am from New Jesey and cannot afford a $3000 wedding. My fiancee and I want a reception indoors, with a DJ, and dinner food (not brunch), but are looking to spend between $1000 to $1,500. I have made requests for help before but I was not specific, so many people, whose ideas were all great, suggested brunch and outdoors.

How to Unstick Marshmellows

My daughter is doing a very "untraditional" thing at her reception. Instead of throwing rice or blowing bubbles she wants to throw mini marshmellows, I think it will be cute but the marshmellows I have bought are starting to get sticky. Any suggestions as to how to "unstick" them so we can put them in tulle bags?

Wedding Photo Tip

A great tip is to take most of your "posed" photos before the ceremony even begins - at least with your girls. That will save a lot of time from leaving the guests bored at the reception.

M&M's for our Wedding Reception

My daughter wants M&M's served at her wedding reception but they are about $4 for one large bag! Fortunately, while I was standing there about to despair, I saw a large bag that had 18 'Fun Size' packages in them. They have just enough in each little packet for one serving and you would NOT get 18 servings out of the regular large bag.

Framing a Wedding Napkin

When we got married, I put one of our wedding napkins, which were printed with our names, wedding date and designs, into a pretty picture frame to have as a remembrance of our wedding. This, too, can be done for the bride's parents, for in-laws and for other guests.

Charitable Wedding Favor

I STRESSED OUT over wedding favors for our guests when we were getting married. I thought about getting traditional favors, like tiny picture frames (that the men don't care about) and tiny trinket boxes (that men don't care about) and everything else under the sun that would be left behind by the men attending our reception, and of course some women (I'm guilty of that).

Hot Pink, Blue, and White Wedding Colors

I am planning my wedding. It is hard to decide on colors. I wanted royal blue, silver, and white, but I was told that the flowers would probably look black in the pictures and it is hard to find royal blue items. So I think I am going to go with hot or bright pink.
