Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 sticks butter (2/3 cup)
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 3/4 tsp. pure vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 2/3 cup self-rising flour (sift before measuring)
  • 4 tsp. milk
  • confectioners sugar
  • Butter PAM

Directions

Melt butter. With a mixer, beat eggs with sugar. Add melted butter and beat until creamy. Add flavoring and milk and beat well. Gradually add flour with mixer until it begins to thicken. With spoon, stir in remaining flour and mix well. Refrigerate overnight. Roll into logs and cut to make small balls. Press each ball on a preheated (warm) insulated cookie sheet sprayed with Butter Pam.

Pat down with fork. Dip fork in confectioners sugar to keep it from sticking to the dough. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 minutes or until brown around edges. Remove from pan immediately after taking out of the oven. Transfer to cooling rack.

Note: Confectioners sugar for dipping fork. Butter Pam for spraying cookie sheet.

Cookies can be rolled and cut with cookie cutter.
