Orange Collars for Indoor Cats

This is a great tip from the folks who make the card game, Exploding Kitties. I have seen it gaining momentum on the internet recently and I thought I would share it with ThriftyFun.

Have your indoor cats wear an orange collar to mark them as a cat who shouldn't be outside, or a "convict kitty". This will help neighbors differentiate your cat from outdoor pets who don't need help.

The below site has more information about the Kitty Convict Program. Their goal is to increase the amount of lost pets who are returned to their home. For cats, that is currently at about 5%.

Sounds like a very good idea!! I tried to collar my cats after one wandered off, and we collected him from the pound where he had been lolling about running up a bar tab! However, my guys, we were outdoor cats continually escaped from their collars, so I eventually gave up. They both stayed pretty close to home after the big adventure, though, so they were never lost again!
