Paper Plate Leprechaun

This inexpensive craft will keep little ones busy for while. Once it's dry, hang on a door or display it on your fridge.

Approximate Time: About 30 minutes

Supplies:

  • paper plate
  • peach colored acrylic paint
  • orange acrylic paint
  • paint brush
  • green, black, and yellow construction paper
  • pencil
  • scissors
  • craft glue
  • black and red markers

Instructions:

  1. Paint the inside portion of the plate with flesh or peach colored paint.

  2. Paint just the outer rim of the plate orange.

  3. Allow to dry.

  4. While paint is drying, draw a hat onto green construction paper.

  5. Draw a one-inch wide hat band onto black construction paper.

  6. Draw a square onto yellow construction paper.

  7. Cut out all pieces.

  8. Assemble the hat by gluing on the black band and the yellow square (be sure to cut out the center of the square to resemble a buckle)

  9. When the paint on the paper plate is dry, glue the hat onto the leprechaun, then draw on the eyes and nose with the markers.
