Since vegetables are in abundance right now, it's a great time to prepare homecooked food for your little ones. Prepare and cook whatever vegetables you have available, keeping in mind that additives are best not added to baby food. When cooking is done, puree the vegetables and pour them into ice cube trays.

Just wanted everybody to enjoy my brand-new grandson, Rowan. Swaddling a newborn really works to calm them. Their nervous systems aren't quite developed enough to self-soothe when their own arm and leg movements startle them.

| Washable Cloth Nappies

I made all my daughters nappies from old t shirts, towels or off cuts of flannel fabric. They all close with Velcro. As she's is now potty trained, I'm making training pants from fleece fabric.

You can always find time to play ball with the dog after new baby arrives. Put the baby in a saucer on the deck and have fun. He will love hanging out and watching you fuss over something other than him.

Use a heating pad on LOW to warm your baby's crib before lying him/her down after you get him or her to sleep. But REMEMBER, be sure to check the temp with your hand before to make sure it's not too hot.
