Teach Your Children the Value of Money
As a retired school teacher, I saw many teenagers who had no idea of the value of money. They felt they should be given whatever they wanted. They also had trouble taking responsibility.

Turn Off the Lights Kids (or it Will Cost You)
Teach kids the value of turning off lights as they leave a room by implying to them that each time costs (for instance) $1. Explain to them that the lights cost money every month and if you have to turn the lights out for them, each time you do that, charge them $1.

Pay Your Child Support
Win the war in the end! Pay your child support. Non custodial parents: when your children are grown they will respect you so much more if they know you paid your part to get them raised.

Teaching My Grandson About Money
I am trying to teach my grandson about money and how to be savvy with it. For Thanksgiving, I gave him 3 one dollar bills. His father took him to the dollar store and let him buy a gift for his mother for Christmas.

Have Kids Pick Their Presents from Santa
With the holiday season coming up quickly it reminds me of what I did when my daughter was little and in grade school. On Thanksgiving evening, I would break out several magazines like Sears, Penny's or even Kmart/Walmart advertisements.

Teaching Children the Value of a Dollar
By Kelly Ann Butterbaugh
In a time when materialism is at a high, the task of teaching children the value of a dollar becomes difficult. Someone recently told me, "What you teach your children in the first ten years of their lives is what molds them into the people they become." I've given this a great deal of thought, and I've decided that I want my son to be a man who understands the value of the things he owns.

Do U Promise a College Education to Your Children?
By Kelly Ann Butterbaugh
Whenever I hear the words 'college fund' I nervously change the subject. It's one of those things that I've put off until my mortgage is paid off. By that time my son will be ten, and I may not have enough time to tuck away enough savings to pay for ever-increasing tuition fees. Unless he earns a scholarship, his road to community college may already be paved. That is, unless UPromise holds up its end of the bargain.
