Pay Mortgage Bi-weekly

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 255 Posts

You can pay your mortgage payments bi-weekly, rather than monthly. If you pay monthly, you''re only making 12 two-week payments or 24 payments. If if you pay bi-weekly, that''s 26 payments! Two more payments a year adds up a lot of savings over several years. I shaved several years off my mortgage by doing this.

When the mortgage company sets you up, they want to charge you for it. But you can just do it on your own for no additional fees. Simply send in the first payment (1/2) before the due date. Then, the second one on or before the due date 2 weeks later. This will ensure you are not paying late.
