Pay a Little to Save a Lot

I have several things that I paid a little more for, but have saved me a lot.
For example, I went on eBay and bought a washable, reusable filter for my Dyson vacuum cleaner for $21. It is now 5 years old and when clean, works just as well as when it was new. If I just used the one that came with the machine, I would be changing it every few months at $9 each time.

I also found a washable air cleaner for my car on eBay. I paid $30 for it, and it is 5 years old. A new one is $10 and lasts about 5 months as we live on a gravel road. I actually got 2, so one is ready to put in while the other is still drying out.
