How do I deter a pair of groundhogs that are living under my shed? I don't want to trap and release them, nor do I want anyone to kill them. Is there anything I can throw down into their hole to make them relocate?
I tried to catch this guy 3 nights in a row with no success. So last night I put a trail of bread OUTSIDE the cage and then a trail of bread going INSIDE the cage. Well, just like Hansel and Gretel, he followed the bread crumbs all the way into the cage far enough to trip the door closed.
Does anyone have an idea on how to stop mice from entering an older house? We put steel wool around the places where the pipes come in. They are also in the attic and can hear them gnawing away at night.
Make a wooden box from scrap lumber found at Home Depot. Drill a hole in each end. Place rat poison inside and set it in your crawl space. Only the rodents can get inside and eat the poison.

I have found a great use for my shredder. My 8 year old daughter has a hamster and a guinea pig.
It was getting expensive to buy various items to use as cage litter. I had always lined the cages with newspaper and then put the litter on top. I still line them with newspaper, but now I use shredded newspaper, ads, and junk mail. I've been using this for almost a year with no ill effects to the animals.
