Pomeranian Won't Come When I Call
I am having an awful time getting my 2 year old pom to come to me when I call. He has a fenced in area in the back yard just out of the door to roam and do his duty. Lately, he has found a way out of the fence.

My Pomeranian Smells Bad
My Pomeranian puppy keeps rolling in "stuff" and she smells like a barnyard. We keep having to bathe her, but she just keeps coming back inside smelly. Is there anything out there that can deter dogs from rolling in things?

Breed Information: Pomeranian
By Ellen Brown
The Pomeranian is the smallest member of the German spitz breeds. Characteristics include a compact body, long, thick coat, a lion-like mane and a striking plumed tail. These little dogs are friendly and active. Their intelligence and docile, yet playful, temperament make them ideal companions.

Pomeranian's Hair Not Growing
I have a purebred Pomeranian that seems to have problems growing her hair. I have confirmed that she is a purebred pomeranian. Are they any ways that i can encourage her hair to grow? The attached picture is not of my dog but that exactly what she looks like but with shorter hair.

Housebreaking Problems with a Pomeranian
We have two puppies, one Sheltie and one Pomeranian. Both were acquired on the same day. The Sheltie understands to do his business outside, but the Pomeranian just can't get it about peeing inside versus taking it outside. He has the pooping down.

Training Pomeranians
I have a small male pom weighing nearly 4 lbs. He is having trouble in the potty training area. I let him out in a safe place and also keep potty pads on the floor for emergencies (he uses the pads fairly well but when I allow him out of the enclosed area he pees again on the carpet even after just eliminating on the pad).

The Pom is a compact dog with a soft undercoat and harsh long outer coat. He has a plumed tail that is upright with the end laying flat along the back. His demeanor is alert and curious. With his fox like appearance, the Pom has a short muzzle with rounded skull, small ears and almond shaped bright eyes. The Breed standard allows all colors. The AKC standard size for a Pom is 3 to 7 pounds.

By Lee Dobbins
If you are looking for a toy dog that is intelligent, curious, lively and cuddly, then the Pomeranian could be the dog for you! Before you enter into dog ownership of any breed, however, you must ask be honest with yourself about if you are ready for the commitment of money and time that it takes to be a responsible dog owner.

Pomeranian Care
By Lee Dobbins
The Pom is a little dog with a big personality! This tiny fluffy creature has a wedge shaped head and looks like a little fox. With it's bright eyes, it seems like it is always smiling and willing to please. It is intelligent and eager to learn, but a firm hand must be applied or this little darling can become yippy and demanding.

The Pomeranian Dog
By Lee Dobbins
The Pomeranian is one of they toy breeds and weighs between 3 and 7 pounds (there are larger poms, and although not to the breed standard, they still make wonderful loving pets!). Intelligent and vivacious, these little dogs will steal your heart, but don't let them get away with too much as they must be properly trained or they will become too demanding. With proper care your Pom can live to about 15 years old.
