I baked a scratch (no cake mixes) devil's food cake for our senior citizen luncheon. It's not the most beautiful decorated cake, but I think you get the idea.
My husband purchased 3 hearts (4x3 inches) at a craft shop. He knotted them all together with a fancy knot (Sapajou). He put our names on them and surprised me by hanging them on our kitchen door!
These cute little heart pins are a perfect gift for your co-workers or any one you would like to say "Be my Valentine" too. They are quick and easy and could easily be made up for a party gift or be made for the residents of a nursing home for Valentine's Day.
This can be made for any holiday just by changing fabric, so it's really universal. It's great for using up scraps, too. It's basically strips of fabric that is braided and shaped into a heart.
This candy dish is made from a terra cotta flowerpot saucer. They're available year-round for under $2.00. Use pink, red, or white craft paint to paint a design inside and/or outside the saucer.
Valentine's gift idea but can be used for any occasion. Take the 3 candy bars and hold them vertically so the sides touch each other forming a triangle in the center.
