Potty Training an Adult Dog

I'm buying a new house and I'm terrified that my 7 year old dog Tiger will pee inside the house. He has already peed on 2 of my couches which I've had to throw away. He has destroyed carpets and hardwood floors.

These were apartments so I didn't care about the floor, but this is my house. I need help. I've bought products to clean the spot, but the carpet still smells. Short of getting rid of him what can I do?

Here is a great link. Bringing your older dog to the home should be just like introducing a new pup. Limit space using crate and doggy gates until your dog is reliable in the small areas. Hope this helps.
