Previously House Trained Dog Has Started Peeing in House

My 5 year old male Maltese was pee trained, but for the past few months he pees around the house even when he goes out frequently to pee and poo.

Shila, a five year old dog that suddenly starts peeing in the house might be experiencing an infection or an emotional change of attitude. If there are no obvious emotional changes (a new pet or person living in the house, a change of routine in your household?) maybe the dog has developed an infection. Call your vet and have him tested for a urinary tract (or other) infection.

Obviously, something has changed and it's your job as the number one advocate for your dog to figure out just what has changed. Hopefully it is something simple that can be corrected easily. Good luck and best wishes! (01/06/2011)
