Putting Photos on a Quilt

How do I use freezer paper to make photos for my quilt?

First you need a product called "Bubble Jet Set". You can buy it online. Cut your cotton fabric to 8-1/2 x 11 inches and soak in the chemical for five minutes and hang to dry. Once dry, you iron the fabric to the shiny side of freezer paper. Then you use it in your bubble jet printer to print your photos. Allow them to dry for 30 minutes, peel off the freezer paper and wash your photos in mild dish detergent and cool water.

(You can also buy Bubble Jet Rinse). Dry them once more, press and they are ready to use in your project. All the directions are on the bottle of 'Bubble Jet Set' and I've been using it for several years successfully for memory quilts. It costs less than twenty dollars and a bottle will treat approximately 50 - 8-1/2 x 11 sheets of fabric. (08/13/2009)

Or you can buy the sheets all ready to print at your local fabric or quilting shop, or you can buy the Avery transfer sheets and follow their instructions to transfer your photos to those if you have a digital camera or a scanner. I think you will find either option is much less expensive that preparing the fabric yourself. (08/18/2009)

Most people use the iron-on transfers that you run through an inkjet printer. But it does look like there are some companies that specialize in it. Here are a couple of links I found with a quick search:
