Receiving Survivor Benefits While Attending College?

I'm currently 17. In August I will be 18 and will be a senior in high school and I receive surviors benefits and I'm going to college. I want to know if I attend college will I still get my benefits? I called SSA they told me that they stopped giving benefits out since 1981, but someone told me that I have to go to SSA and request that I get the benefits while attending college. Someone please help!

Only the SSA can fully answer your question, however, if you are now receiving Social Security Administration Survivor's benefits, they continue until age 18 and high school graduation or 19 for late graduation. Survivor's benefits do not continue beyond the age of 18 or 19 and are not paid for college attendance.
