Red Velvet Cake Using White Cake Mix?

1 white non pudding cake mix
1 3.5 oz package non instant chocolate pudding mix
approximately 1/2 cup buttermilk
red food coloring as desired

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cake mix as per package directions, substituting buttermilk for half of the water called for. I use sour milk when I don't have buttermilk. Stir in the dry pudding mix, and the red food coloring.( I use about 2 Tbsp.) When the batter is as red as you want it, pour into pan(s) and bake according to the package directions.
