water chestnutsI love casseroles! This is one of the best I've had, and so easy!

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 slices white bread
  • 4 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • Advertisement

  • 2 cans sliced mushrooms, drained (4oz. size)
  • 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained
  • 1/2 cup Miracle Whip
  • 1 cup shredded American cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterrey Jack cheese
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup melted margarine
  • 2/3 cup bread crumbs

Directions:

Layer bread slices in greased 9x13 inch pan. Arrange chicken over bread. Sprinkle with mushrooms. Spread with mixture of water chestnuts and Miracle Whip. Sprinkle with cheeses. Pour mixture of eggs, milk and soups over top. Chill, covered, 3-24 hours. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees F. Sprinkle with mixture of margarine and bread crumbs. Bake for 25 minutes.

Fancy enough for a dinner party. This recipe can be prepared on a moment's notice if you just keep the ingredients on hand. My family loves it and guests think I'm a gourmet cook!

You can easily add a couple more chicken breasts if you need to stretch it a little.

Combine chicken or turkey, macaroni and cheese, mushrooms, water chestnuts (drained and sliced), almonds, 1 cup shredded cheese, and soups. Mix well. Spoon into 9x13 inch pan.

This is different because it uses popcorn! Mix mayonnaise, chopped onion, chopped celery, cheddar cheese, and sugar together in a large bowl and chill for a couple of hours. When you are ready to serve the salad, add the bag of microwave popcorn.

In bowl, stir together soup, milk, dry onion soup mix, undrained mushrooms and teriyaki sauce. Reserve 1/2 cup of the soup mixture and set aside.

Melt cheese and soup over low heat, add green beans and water chestnuts and heat through. Sliced almonds may be sprinkled on top, Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes.

Mix all ingredients in the order given. Pour into well greased 9x13 inch pan. Cover with foil. Refrigerate overnight or until ready to bake. Bake 1 hour in 350 degrees F oven. Leave covered for the first 1/2 hour of cooking; uncover for the last 1/2 hour.

Heat oil in an electric skillet at 375-400 degrees F. Brown sirloin 2-3 minutes. Combine sugar, flour, soy sauce and water. Pour over beef; push to one side of skillet.

Add bamboo shoots and onions, keeping in separate groups. Continue cooking while tossing each ground 5-10 minutes.

Place all ingredients in large baking dish; mix well. Bake, covered, at 325 degrees F for 1 hour and 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
