$10 Dinners: Bean With Bacon Soup
This recipe is a version of a childhood favorite of mine, Campbell's Bean with Bacon Soup.
10 Quarts of Homemade Italian Chicken Soup (for less than $10)
Put all into a 12 qt pot and simmer for 2-3 hours. Use a hen, it won't break down as quick as a chicken (the meat does not come out dry or stringy) and has more flavor. Check the soup for flavor, add more salt if needed.
$10 Dinners: Grandma Sue's Famous Sausage Stew
This is an easy weeknight meal that my whole family likes. It is inspired by a recipe of my mother's.
One Pot Beef And Veggies - $10 Dinner
I don't really know how much this costs, because we grow everything in it except for the mushroom soup. I bought a bunch of that for fifty cents a can, so I'm stocked up for the year. This is a one-pot meal that you can throw in the oven and then go read a magazine or something.
$10 Dinners: Chicken And Rice Soup
This recipe was created entirely with ingredients I had on hand, mostly leftovers. I had a house full of sick boys who needed chicken soup. Rather than opening up a couple of cans, I decided to throw this together.
Make Ground Beef into hamburger patties and cook. Mix Mushroom Gravy mix, soup and water in bowl with wire whisk. Pour over cooked Hamburger patties and simmer until heated through and slightly thickened into gravy.
First make the stuffing. In a medium bowl, mix the bread, celery, onion, garlic, sage, marjoram, salt, and pepper. Stir in the egg and just enough hot water to moisten. Next, prepare the turkey legs. Arrange the turkey legs around the perimeter of a large baking dish and sprinkle the crushed chicken bouillon cubes over top.
$10 Dinners - Basil Tomato Salad with Grilled Chicken
This $10 dinner was inspired and purchased at a local farmer's market. Seasonal vegetables tend to be much cheaper directly from the source. A total of about $5.00 was spent on the veggies for this salad.
Where Can I Find The $10 Dinners?
In a recent newsletter, wasn't there a topic that was $10 meals or something like that. It was shells, sausage and something else. I was trying to copy it to my word processing program and I lost it and I had deleted the message before I was really ready to delete it.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray dish with cooking spray. Place fish in bottom of casserole dish in single layer. Drain and rinse beans. In separate bowl, mix corn, beans salsa and cheese.
$10 Dinners: Sausage Shells And Broccoli
Start the water boiling for the pasta, adding a bit of oil and some salt. Cut up about 1 1/2 to 2 cups of broccoli flowerettes. Dice any stem parts and add them in as well. Set aside.
Chop green onions, reserving most of green part for later and mince or press 4-5 garlic cloves. Take a large skillet and brown ground beef, adding in onion and garlic after a couple of minutes. When it is throughly cooked, drain any grease and return to heat.
$10 Dinners: Parmesan Chicken And Veggies
I was inspired to create my own $10 recipe so here it is: Start the rice first. I use brown rice because it is more nutritious than white rice. Nuke the water in the microwave for 3 minutes.
Mince about 3 cloves of garlic and chop onions into bite sized pieces. Set aside. Chop pepper and snow peas approximately the same size. Slice the chicken on the short side into 1/2 inch strips, so they will cook quickly.
$10 Dinners: Spaghetti and Meatballs
Chop onion and mince or press 4-5 garlic cloves, more if you would like to make garlic toasts with the loaf of bread. Set aside 1/2 cup of onion and 2 cloves of garlic for meatballs.
