Substituting Coconut in a Tandy Cake Recipe
I make a peanut butter tandy cake recipe. I would like to convert the recipe into coconut chocolate tandy cakes. I plan to omit the peanut butter and use dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. Would anyone know if I can add coconut to the batter recipe without any other changes to it?
This is so quick and easy to make with ingredients we usually keep in the pantry. I buy the cake mix when it is on sale for a dollar or less.

When I have a lot of squash (any kind) or fruit, like figs, I make this and put it up in portions so I don't have to eat it all at one time. Then I freeze and eat some later.
Cream butter and sugar; add flour. Press into 9x13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes.
Place stick of margarine in 9x13 inch pan and melt in the oven. Sprinkle the crushed graham crackers over the melted margarine. Sprinkle the coconut over crumbs.
These bars a little time-consuming, but are so tasty. These bars do not require many ingredients, so you might already have everything handy to bake these soon.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Squares
So good! Melt 1 cup butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in confectioners' sugar, peanut butter, and graham cracker crumbs.
