Recycled Infinity Scarf

two finished scarves hanging Use your old or unwanted t-shirts and lightweight sweaters, or knit fabric scraps to make this fun infinity scarf. Keep it simple with solids or get creative with prints or embellished t-shirts. In the scarf pictured on the right, I used all solids. In the scarf on the left, I had some fun with some t-shirts with patterns, embroidery, imprints, and studs.

Supplies:

6 ft scraps of knit fabric, t-shirts, or lightweight sweaters ($0)
1 spool matching thread ($1.50)
sewing machine
scissors
tape measure

Steps:

Gather your fabrics. I used a combination of t-shirts and knit fabric scraps.
Cut about 10 strips, each 16" wide and 6 to 8" high. Vary the height to get a more random look.

Arrange the strips of fabric to get a nice color variation. Then sew the strips together into a long row. Combine enough strips until you have a length of about 72". Press seams open.
