Reducing Child Support Payments?

I am paying child support and my daughter is receiving Social Security benefits since I am disabled. Where can I look to see if the state can remove the garnishment or lower it?

Between what your daughter gets for Social Security and what is being garnished from your checks, does that add up to the amount that you are supposed to be paying, or is it over the amount? If it adds up to the exact amount that is court ordered for you to pay, I don't think anything will be done, unless you can prove that you can't afford to pay it. Talk to your state's department of child support enforcement. They are the ones that will know.

I would contact the Social Security Administration via the toll free number. They are equipped to answer your questions or tell you where you can call to get the correct answer.
