Removing Cat Urine Stains on Hardwood?

We have light stained white oak hardwood floors. We have noticed that our 8-9 year old cat has lately been peeing on our rugs. We also suspect that the cat has been dripping urine on the hard wood floors that appears to be making smudges in various spread out areas. They are not plainly obvious, you see them at a certain angle or certain light. We hope you can recommend a good hardwood floor cleaner that will take care of this or at will at least improve the condition vs. sanding/refinishing,etc., as 2 rooms and a hall and possibly a 3rd room are affected. We are taking the cat to the vet, to find out what's wrong with her. Thank you for your help.

Here are a few different home remedies to remove the cat urine stain on your hardwood floors.

Use baking soda and white vinegar to make a wet paste. Apply this to the area of your floor that is stained. Let it dry and brush away. You might need to do this a few times to completely remove the stain.
Take hydrogen peroxide and soak a clean rag with the 3 percent solution. Lay this over the stain and leave it for a few hours or overnight.
Make a wet paste using Zud and Bar Keepers Friend and brush on the area. Leave this for several hours. Afterwards, neutralize the area with white vinegar and wipe wih a clean cloth. You might need to do this several times to remove the stain.

Using rubber gloves and following the direction on the bottle of DAP wood bleach will also remove the stain on your floor.

Just be careful not to damage the stain or finish on your floors.
