If the stain is new, blot it with dry paper towel. Use a cotton ball to saturate the stain with rubbing alcohol. Then blot the stain with a clean paper towel. If the stain is mostly removed, apply a stain remover and launder the garment. If the stain persists, try soaking the garment in a bucket of salt water for a few hours. Use 1 cup of salt for each gallon of water. After soaking, apply a stain remover and launder.

How do you remove highlighter ink from polyester? I dropped a highlighter on my brand new 100% polyester shirt. Does anyone know how to remove this stain?
