Hair Conditioner For Clogged Pipes
For small drain clogs, I accidentally found that a few globs of hair conditioner will get the water flowing. It seems to coat whatever is down there (ugh). Running hot water over the conditioner is helpful.

My daughter dropped her diamond down the drain. She called a local plumber who said there would be a service call charge of $55.00 plus a charge to locate the ring. I called my brother in law who does plumbing, and here are the steps he gave me to do the job.

Paper Towels Clogging a Toilet
My son flushed a whole roll of paper towels and now I have a stubborn clog. Water will slowly drain after a flush, leaving a paper pulp mess behind. No solids will go down. I scooped out all the pulp from the bowl.

Fixing A Dripping Shower. If your shower drips long after someone's finished showering, unscrew the screw that holds the water control handle and the pin that holds the shower diverter (for hot or cold water), so you can pull the shower diverter off to clean.

Overflowing Toilet
With quick action, you can limit the amount of water that winds up on your floor from an overflowing toilet. First, take off the back of the toilet and push the stopper or plunger down in the bottom of the tank so it stops allow water into the bowel.

Retrieving Parts from a Broken Drain
The linkage to my plunger type drain broke and the remainder of the rod fell bak down in the pipe where the lever is located. How do I retrieve it? is there a magnet that can be used?
