Repairing Versus Replacing Appliances

I recently dropped a flower arrangement marble down my garbage disposal. I turned it off as soon as I heard the grinding noise, but it was too late. We thought we would have to replace it. We Googled our problem and a number of sites came up. One was a video by a plumber in Utah showing how to unjam a garbage disposal. In less than a half hour, my husband had our disposal humming along and it cost nothing. Check your computer for repair advice before even calling a repairman.
