Reusing the Suds in the Washer?

Besides vinegar and fabric softener what else can I use to reduce suds in the washing machine?

You can buy a low-suds detergent. If it says HE on the label, it doesn't produce a lot of suds.

You do not say what type of washing machine you have but front loading machines can use only HE detergent. If you have a water softening unit it will be difficult to eliminate the suds but using front loading detergent will help.

Reducing the detergent amount is a first, adding vinegar to your wash water and rinse water will help and if you have soap build-up in your clothes you may even try a load with only vinegar and no soap or just a couple of tablespoons of soap.

Sounds like you're using the wrong kind of detergent. Most made for HE washers are low suds.
