Robin's Thrifty Tips: Weekly Grocery Deals

There are more good deals to be had this week at my two local grocery stores. Hy-Vee will be having a 3 day sale and these are some of the bargains available for those 3 days only:

• Bakery fresh cinnamon rolls (4-count) or stick pull-aparts (9 count) for $1.88
• Bakery fresh garlic bread $1.88 (16oz.)
• Mini Sweet Seedless Watermelon are 2/$3

• Bratwurst of Italian sausage (16, 19 or 20oz.) are $2.98/pkg.
• Hy-Vee thin sliced deli ham is $1.88/lb.
• Fresh salads $3.99/3lb. pkg.
• Bacon wrapped sirloin fillets are 2/$4
  <l.I>Oscar Meyer Lunchables are 10/$10 for the 3.3 or 4.6oz. pkgs.

Last of all, they have a coupon good for the 3 day special for 2 boneless sirloin steaks or sirloin strip steaks and get a free floral bouquet! I love flowers and sirloin steak, so I may take advantage of this offer! These are all of the items advertised for the 3 day sale. Following are other great deals this week at Hy-Vee that are good for the entire week!

Hy-Vee has fresh strawberries for $3.99/4lb. pkg., Kelloggs cereals for $1.98/box and a 5lb. bag of russet potatoes is .88. Rice-a-Roni or Pasta-Roni is 5/$5 and Spaghettios are .99/can for the regular size can. Suave shampoo or conditioner is .88 as is Hy-Vee cottage cheese (12oz. pkg.). There are also 3 coupons good for the entire week. The are as follows:

• 12 pack Coke products are 3/$10
• Amana (24oz.) loaf of bread 2/$3
• 15 count Hy-Vee spring water (bottled water) is $1.99/pkg.

Moving on to Fareway, they have 4 coupons good for the week. They are as follows:

• 15 oz. cans of Van Camps pork & beans are 3/$1
• Buy any 5 boxes of Kelloggs cereals and save $5
• 93% lean ground beef $2.49/lb. but you must buy the 10lb. roll
  whole, bone-in chicken breasts are .99/lb.

A 32oz. jar of Heinz dill pickles is .99, Fascto hot dog and hamburger buns are .77/pkg. and Betty Crocker fudge brownie mixes are .99. Heinz sweet relish is .99 as is Heinz mustard and Farmland jumbo hot dogs. Looks like the nice weather has Fareway thinking of grilling and picnic time!
Some other good deals this week are a 20lb. bag of Pedigree dog food for $9.99, Big Mopper paper towels for .69/roll, Kleenex facial tissues (110 count box) .99, beef chuck roasts are $2.69/lb.

(That is a very good deal!) and 4 lb. pkgs are bratwurst or ground pork patties are $4.99. 1/2 gallons of Anderson Erickson lemonade are $1.19 and Fastco potato chips are $1.77 for the 12-16oz. bag. 2 liters of A&W, Sunkist, Diet Rite, RC, 7-Up or Dr. Pepper are .99 each and 32oz. bottles of Powerade are .88 each.

In the produce section, Roma tomatoes are .88/lb., fresh green beans are .69/lb. and Jazz apples are .99.
