Salmon Bake

This is a great salmon dish. So easy and so delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Advertisement

  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 1 small green pepper, diced
  • 1 lb. can salmon, drained and flaked
  • 2 slices white bread, buttered and cut into 1 inch squares.

Directions:

    Melt butter in saucepan.

  1. Blend in flour and seasonings.
  2. Gradually add milk and cook, stirring until thick and smooth.
  3. Blend in egg, stir in lemon juice, mayonnaise, carrots, and green pepper. Fold in salmon.
  4. Turn into buttered casserole. Top with bread, buttered side up.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes.

Servings: 4-6
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cooking Time: 20-25 Minutes

Sounds delicious and it's definitely easy. I might add in other veggies too for variety. I do have 2 questions, however.

1) Step 1 states: "Blend in flour and seasonings." "Seasonings" is plural yet the only seasoning listed is salt. Did you forget to list some ingredients, i.e. pepper, onion/garlic powder, etc?

2) The ingredients ask for 1Tbsp butter. Is this used to butter the bread? Is it used to butter the casserole dish? Is it blended into the milk mixture?
