I have a similar light acne problem and my scars last months! About 8 months ago I had this big pimple that was infected and I popped it. know I know, shouldn't be done and I never do but I was meeting my in-laws and didn't want to go with a huge pimple! It ended up getting worse. Sure the pimple was gone but there was a huge sore on my cheek! It was at least half an inch in diameter!
Anyway, it was red after the scab fell off and I had this red spot that got redder whenever I exfoliated. It was so sensitive and makeup could barely cover it! I found this mask that saved my skin from that horrible red spot! ASPIRIN MASK: use 3 UNCOATED aspirin tablets with a tablespoon of water and 3 squirts of honey (bee honey of course). Mash it all with your fingers. Wash your face with mild soap (dove or whatever) and then apply this mask. I leave it on for 3 minutes because my skin is so sensitive but, some people leave it on for more. You know your skin best.
It's 8 months later and I can't see the spot at all, the only time I can kind of make it out is when I use the mask because it contains acids that remove your top layer of skin and sometimes irritate my skin. So use it as often as you can depending on your skin type but, no more than once a day. I dunno how well it works in 2 weeks but it got rid of my spot entirely in 8 months.
CAUTION: AVOID EYE AREA
Use at least a 30 SPF protective lotion whenever you go out and wear a hat because the aspirin leaves your skin sensitive to the sun and could cause sun spots, that you do not want! I almost always use the mask once a week but, I have used it only once a month for some months. I also use Neutrogena ultrasheer 50 SPF sunblock lotion everyday.
Aspirin is safe to use on your skin, it helps get rid of wrinkles and spots from the sun and acne as long as you wear sunblock and lotion. It is the main ingredient for all scar removing lotions and treatments. Do not use it as a scrub! Only just as a gentle exfoliation. Leave it on and only scrub gently when you are washiing it off!
