Scenery: Champoeg State Park

I got to visit Champoeg State Park with my son's class yesterday. It is a really lovely park and quite large. I had not realized the historical significance of the area before. It is the location where the first settlers in Oregon voted to join the United States. We will definitely go back when we have more time to explore!

This reminds me of places on Florida's Suwannee River years ago before it became so crowded with people. There are still a few scenes like this which haven't been destroyed. Go back soon Jess, and go often. I've watched my home state of Florida be utterly destroyed by tourism and big construction companies.
