I have access to hundreds and hundreds of old tires. How or who do I contact who would purchase these for recycling purposes?
Why not visit or call the tire stores that sell tires and ask what they do with the old tires they have when they sell new tires to someone. In my state they charge $4 a tire to dispose.
These are Great for Children's Playgrounds. They build Dragons & swing sets-Round tire swings-& Climbing paths with tires. They look really cool, last a long time & put mulch or sand on the playground 1st. You could ask someone at the Town Hall or Elemmentry Schools,if they might use them to build or replace existing ones. The Parks Dept. or Recreation Dept. at Picnic/Camp Areas or the Kids Summer Camps or Big Brother/Big Sister Program or other kid oriented programs. They might be able to put you in touch with someone who would Really Appreciate them for the kids.Good Luck! : )
I am not sure what type of area in which you live, but you could probably start with your town's landfill office, a metals recycler, or even a body shop. One of those may know who you can contact. Hope that you do find someone that can take them off your hands.
Personally I would shred them up someway and sell the remains to replace the stone, pine needles etc. that is used in yards or flower beds.
