I always have a supply of the plastic containers delis and Chinese restaurants use. When I have guests over for meals and want to give them a "care package," I don't have to ask them to return the container.

I use these to take to potlucks. That way, I don't mind whether I take it home with me or not.
A lot of the deli meat I buy comes in disposable Rubbermaid containers, so I save those for leftovers and for sending home with guests at Thanksgiving or other get-togethers.
