Sewing Machine Starts Stitching When Plugged In?

Once I connect my machine to the power source and I switch it on it quickly stitches, without me having to press the foot pedal. It does not respond to pressing the foot pedal.

You most likely need a new foot control; it may have a loose wire in the control itself or the cord could be damaged. Your local sewing machine dealer should be able to supply you with one, or repair yours.
