Sewing Machine Won't Sew Through Leather?

I recently got a Necchi 575FA. I'm currently trying to sew a patch on leather. My machine will sew thru cottons, but with leather it will not make a stitch. I changed out my needle to a heavy duty one. I have the right foot, dusted, and oiled my machine. I'm very frustrated and need help before I pull my hair out!

You can try putting a piece of tissue paper on top of the leather to make the needle go in easier.
