How do I shorten the stride in men's pants to fit a young boy?

There would be a lot of alterations needed to cut down a pair of mens pants to fit a young boy, you'd almost have to completely re-sew the garment. Try having the child put the trousers on inside out and see how much would have to be taken in at all of the seams-remember to adjust the waistband by removing it from the pants, taking in the seams and then reinstalling the waistband minus the extra inches.

Good luck, this seems as though it would really be a lot of work.
