For as long as I have been driving (10+ years), I would always get a receipt just in case there is a bill discrepancy so I would have proof.
About a few months ago, I realized I never had a problem with my bill being overcharged, so why do I keep getting a receipt? It is such a waste of paper/trash for my car. Instead, now I snap a photo as my proof and it'll be on my phone just in case, plus the time and location on the photo.
This will help reduce unnecessary trash! After I check my credit card bill and everything looks right, I delete the photos.
