Sports Bottle Chicken Waterer

Sports bottles make great chicken waterers. They are very durable and their large opening makes them easy to clean and fill. The holder for your bicycle makes it easy to mount them in the coop or anywhere you want.

To convert them to a chicken waterer, you will need to purchase poultry water drinking nipples.They are fairly inexpensive and available online or at feed stores.

Making the waterer:

1. Drill a hole into the bottom of the bottle using a 3/8 inch drill bit.
   
2. Wrap the threads of the nipple with thread tape, then screw the nipple completely into the hole.
   
3. Install the bottle holder onto the side of the coop or wherever you need it. Be sure to put it at a height appropriate for your chickens to access the nipple.
   
4. Fill the bottle with water and install it in the bottle holder.
