We always used them for storing toys like my son's LEGOs and my daughter's Barbie clothes.

I have many of the popcorn tins filled with seasonal decorations like Valentines Day, Easter, 4th of July, seashells & beach motif, Fall flowers, tabletop items and, of course, Christmas. I label the sides of the cans as to contents. Store them in my attic. They stay nice and dry year round.
