Boil and mash the potatoes. Add the sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla and milk. Mix well and put in 9x13 pan. Mix together the butter, brown sugar, flour and chopped pecans. Sprinkle on top of the potatoes and bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. To make this casserole in the crockpot: Follow the directions like you are making them in the oven, but do not put the topping on the potatoes. Transfer the potatoes to the crockpot and then add the topping. Heat the potatoes until the topping melts or approximately 1 hour on medium heat.
