Each Friday, we are going to be spotlighting a different staff member to introduce them to the ThriftyFun community. We took a break around the holiday season but are back now. This week, we are featuring Jess.
Jess is Susan's (Thrifty Fun's founder) oldest daughter and has lived in the Pacific NW for most of her life. She currently lives just west of Portland, OR with her husband and two sons, who make occasional photo appearances on ThriftyFun.
Jess started working for ThriftyFun in May 2006 on a part time basis, and started full time in January 2007. Currently, Jess is our Editor-in-Chief, and is responsible for managing the contest entries, articles and other new content that you see on ThriftyFun. She is also responsible for publishing the ThriftyFun Recipes newsletter every weekday, along with whatever else might need to be done.
About being frugal, Jess says "My mother scrimped all her life to have enough for her kids. I try to do her proud but sometimes stumble along the way. It truly is a balancing act between what you want and what you need."
Here is a link to Jess' $10 Dinners feature, which we hope to see more of soon, and an article she wrote about her low cost wedding.
