Tossed Green Salad with Fruit and Nuts

I call this an all together salad. It combines things DH and DD thought they wouldn't like. But it surprised them; they really liked it. I didn't measure ingredients. I just made us each a nice serving.

Ingredients:

  • spring lettuce mix, baby greens (or iceberg is OK)
  • avocado
  • green seedless grapes
  • walnuts
  • cucumber
  • green onions
  • green (or black) ripe olives
  • Craisins and feta cheese (optional)
  • sesame dressing (I used bottled, but you can make your own.)
  • Boysenberry syrup (Smuckers)
  • salt and pepper

Directions:

Wash all veggies. Break lettuce into bite size pieces. Peel and cube avocado. Take grapes off stems. Chop or break walnuts into pieces. Slice cucumber and green onion.

Mix all ingredients together and add dressing plus a drizzle of boysenberry syrup. Sprinkle with Craisins and crumbled feta cheese if you like.

Servings: Varies depending on size.
Prep Time: 10 - 15 Minutes
Cooking Time: None Minutes

Everything you've added to this salad sounds delicious and the "taster in my head" can't wait to try it. We enjoy mixing different nuts, seeds and dried or fresh fruits to all sorts of salads as well as breads. You grow so many of Florida's fruits and vegetables in CA, so they're always easy to find here too. Usually our neighbors offer the avocados and mangoes and mangoes are so plentiful this year. I would just have to add mango to my salad. :-)

Thanks for sharing Vi. Thumbs Up.
