Whenever I travel and need to take shears (nail or other), I push the tip of the shears into a wine cork. It stops the point of the shears going through my makeup bag.
Some people are comfortable bargaining, but others would rather stick with the number on the price tag. There's no need to fear bargaining; the worst that will happen is that a person will say "no deal."

I discovered that those small poop/waste bags for dogs make perfect bags to dispose of used sanitary pads or plastic tampons. Definitely handy while traveling.
