Use Hairspray on Black Fabrics

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 355 Posts

Using pump style hair spray.

I have a pair of black stretch rayon fabric heels, that get scuffed and marked up so easily. They always look dirty to me. I was wiping them down with a damp cloth, when I thought, I would try spraying hair spray on them and rubbing the spray in. Then it looked so good, I gave them a final spray and let them dry. They looked brand new.

Then, I was ironing my favorite pair of skinny black dress pants, which always need to be brushed with the lint brush because they collect everything. Plus these favorite black pants were getting dull looking. So, out came the hair spray. I was ironing, sprayed them lightly with hair spray not knowing what this was going to do, and ironed over them. It came out with a light coat of a nice sheen and they look like brand new dress skinny stretch pants. These are my "new" favorite pants again! I'm happy! And still looking for more uses for inexpensive hair spray.
