Use Wax Paper with Foods to Eliminate Plastic Taste

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 131 Posts

A sandwich wrapped in wax paper and then stored in a plastic container.Certain foods that I store in plastic containers (even baggies) end up tasting strange. Those foods include; sandwiches, cookies, crackers, and chips. I never have an issue with anything else. Eventually, I would like to replace all of my plastic containers with glass ones. Until that day comes, I've found that using wax paper is an easy fix to keep the odd taste from getting into my foods. I simply wrap any item in the paper prior to placing it in the container or Ziploc bag. For foods that are hard to wrap, like chips, I either purchase individual bags of the item or use wax sandwich bags.
