Can I use my permanent hair dye after 3 weeks in the fridge?

As long as you did not mix it with the developer it is fine and doesn't have to be refrigerated. If you did mix it, it is no good.

Ok if I have to test the hair dye several hours (12~24)before I dye my hair how does the hair dye stay good until the test is done. You have mixed the ingredients already for the strand test. Now what? Buy 2 boxes?

Unless you mix the entire kit at once the strand test is not going to give you accurate results. You have to test the exact chemical measurements you use to color your hair right? It makes no rhyme or reason to me.

As long as the colour and the developer are still in separate containers.

I believe it would most likely have "exploded" if it had been mixed and you tried to save it so I think you are safe in using your dye.

Here are a couple of interesting links about dying your hair.

It sounds like you saved the two products in separate containers. I saw what happened to my friend's hair dye after 3 days. She mixed it together and didn't have time to dye her hair. After 3 days the dye was just foam.

This sounds like you can still use the dye on your hair.

You can save dye that hasn't been mixed with developer. If it has been then not really.
