Using a Squeezo Strainer

I have a Squeezo, but no manual. Do the apples or pumpkins have to be cooked first or does the Squeezo machine process them uncooked, in their natural harvested state? What are the steps to make applesauce and pumpkin puree for winter use? Thank you for answering.
