| Buying Supplies for Bridesmaids Dresses
All my daughter's bridesmaids were in college and on a tight budget. My daughter and I went to JoAnn's to pick out and purchased the patterns of our choice on 99 cent day. We collected coupons from friends and used them for zippers, thread and other notions.

| Bridesmaid Gift Baskets
For bridesmaids gifts for my daughter, I made up a "mix" for gourmet muffins and put the mix in a zip-lock bag and wrapped it up in some white silk-like material, put a silver bow around it and tied the baking instructions around the top.

| Matching Bridesmaids Shoes
My sister recently got married and was having a hard time finding shoes to match the bridesmaid's dresses. The solution? She purchased inexpensive satin-type shoes and colored them with a highlighter until the appropriate color was achieved.

| Wedding and Bridesmaids Dresses on a Budget
These bridesmaid dresses were made by my daughter's mother in-law for no charge. The total cost of each of them was about $50. That is buying material that was NOT on sale. The bride's (my daughter) dress was purchased from a friend for $20 and dry cleaned. The flower girl's dress was a dress that she already owned that had been purchased from a clearance rack at Von Maur for about $20. It was originally purchased for an anniversary celebration. Beautiful dresses done very inexpensively.

| Homemade Bridesmaid Dresses
I made 4 dresses for my son's wedding for around $20 apiece. Walmart sells a CHEAP pattern and it was a very simple, strapless A line. I hadn't sewn in years but it worked out fine. The secret to making bridesmaid dresses is not to be extravagant about the material you choose. Shoes were from Payless. The cost for each girl about $35.

| Hairdressing for Bridesmaids

Instead of taking your bridesmaids to a pricey salon, find a hairstyling school in your area. They usually charge 1/3 (or less!) the price then a regular salon.

| Making Keepsakes for Bridesmaids
I have two slightly-stained white-satin wedding dresses that I purchased at yard sales. Both dresses are full-skirted and have attached net slips and train. I also have the veil for one dress.
My daughter is getting married in June and I would like to make keepsakes for her bridesmaids from some of this material, perhaps incorporating some of the beading, pearls, and lace trim.
I need ideas and patterns. Thank you. - Belinda
